You’ll create an offshore packing strategy for your personal gear and equipment, and design your first Offshore Meal Plan and Provision List to serve tasty, nutritious meals that are easy to prepare underway. You’ll also learn how to prepare for seasickness in advance of departure by creating a customized Seasickness Regimen and Management Strategy. MOD-1 concludes by summarizing all seamanship methods you need NOW to absolutely “get off the dock” and sail short passages … you’ll take confident ACTION!
DOWNLOAD ACTIONS … MODULE 1: Open these MOD-1 Seamanship Actions and refer to them while completing MODs 1.1 to 1.5. After completing MOD-1 in its entirety, and performing the actions, you’ll have created a powerful set of seamanship methods for use while sailing safe, EPIC voyages!
The Six Truths of Sailing Readiness
A sailor will satisfy six truths of “readiness” on their journey to go anywhere by sail — this begins by defining 1) a sailing plan and 2) attaining the human-readiness necessary to achieve the plan; the sailor will need 3) a seaworthy sailing vessel equipped with 4) navigation, communication, and in many cases an autopilot system that can pilot the crew prudently within the route’s complexity; 5) a reliable auxiliary propulsion system is needed; and, 6) the onboard accommodation and safety systems must all be carefully chosen to create an onboard comfort-level befitting their sailing plan.
1.0 … The Voyage That Lays Ahead
Go Anywhere by Sail — Module 1.0 gives a full overview of the experience and describes how to move ahead by taking action! Understanding the voyage that lays ahead is important. Learn what you must do, and not do, to release yourself from your shore-side cycle and achieve Sailing Mastery through the extinction of your old self.
1.1 … Bluewater Sea Trial
Comprehensive Vessel Preparation & System Testing … I give you the approach to prove your vessel ready for reliable offshore operation. This Module gets results for yacht owners; there’s nothing in the industry as comprehensive as MOD-1.1 to gain confidence in your vessel. By completing MOD-1.1 and engaging with Paul Exner during the LIVE WEEKLY Q&A CALL, you will prepare a virtually “bullet-proof” and offshore seaworthy vessel, while controlling your costs, and getting expert advice! MOD-1.1 also includes Test Maneuvers you’ll perform on-the-water to engage the crew with hands-on practice while familiarizing them with each system before heading offshore.
1.2 … Personal Gear and Equipment
Create a personal packing strategy for yourself; avoid discomfort offshore by adopting the gear choices I know work. I discuss brands, but more importantly provide you a strategy that’s proven to keep you comfortable offshore while living aboard. There’s a limitation on budget and storage space for the gear you select. The worst thing is to be in the middle of a passage and miserable because the products you’ve selected are giving you poor performance. Save time and disappointment by beginning your gear collection from my 40 years of experience assembling an approach that works!
1.3 … Seasickness: Pre-Departure Physiology & Offshore Management
Seasickness will produce a debilitating physical condition in sailors so severe that some sailors quit sailing all together because of it. For those inflicted by this disturbance of the inner ear that causes nausea, vomiting, dizziness, sweating and headaches, they must learn to preempt the onset of symptoms with over-the-counter or prescription drugs, AND/OR several common sensical life-style preparations before they embark on a voyage. MOD-1.3 helps you create a customized Seasickness Regimen and Management Strategy before you get entangled with the negative effects of seasickness that’s impossible manage without a serious plan like this Module helps you create.
1.4 … Meal Planning & Provisions for Short Passages
Design a customized Offshore Meal Plan and Provision List to serve tasty, nutritious meals that are easy to prepare underway. MOD-1.4 lays the groundwork, and prepares your mindset NOW to improve your experience with sailing passages of 0.5 to 2 days in duration. Later in this course, you’ll find an entire Module dedicated to this matter: MOD-4 Provisions and Crew, which builds upon the work you complete now in MOD-1.4. The topic of “Crew Happiness” is the most important seamanship method of all, and the key to a crew’s happiness is to keep their appetite satisfied.
Get to work NOW and start sailing offshore without relying on canned-food nor waiting to exceed high expectations that force you to believe that having a freezer aboard is required—MOD-1.4 contains “mind-bending” content that gives ALL you need to GO NOW!
1.5 … Methods to Make Short Offshore-Passages — Build Confidence
Summarize all seamanship methods you need NOW to make short passages with confidence.
